I’m not proud of what I am about to do. But desperate times call for stuffing one’s pride down a deep, dark hole and begging.

The first night of our jewelry show did not go well. On the one hand, nearly every person who came bought something. But on the other hand…only about ten people came.

The Ogre and I are panicking, just a bit. I know that it’s foolish to put all of one’s eggs in one basket, but that’s what we’ve done here. Our summer finances depend on us selling this jewelry that we have poured the sweat of many late nights into. And I’m not sure what we’re going to do if more people don’t come today. We will be up the proverbial creek.

So I’m begging you guys for your help. We’re offering a discount to anyone who comes to the show and mentions they came our way through my blog. They will receive 25% off a second item of equal or lesser value. If any of you are in the DFW area, please stop by. Bring your friends! We have plenty of wine and hors d’oevre. And if you’re not in the DFW area but know people who live here, please send them the information. We need as many people to come as possible.

I have a lovely little email invitation ready to go, so please send me your email address or leave it in my combox and I will send you the invite with the address and time. Don’t forget to put my email address in your contact folder so it doesn’t go to spam! It is calahalexander(at)yahoo(dot)com.

I really appreciate the help, guys. We are in an hour of desperation, and we are truly grateful for anything you might do to plead our cause. I know the two of us have been begging for the intercession of St. Homobonus, the patron saint of sales people, and if you would join us in that endeavor we would be even more grateful.

In case you’ve forgotten what our jewelry looks like, here are a few pictures:

Yes, those are real pearls…they’re very pretty pearls, too
