Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
A typical horoscope lays out what you can expect for yourself in the next week or month based on your Sun Sign. That sort of thing is great, sure… especially if you happen to be the only person on your planet. Astrology, like life in general, is a lot more complicated than “there are twelve types of people, and here’s what’s going to happen to them.”
This “horoscope” is a listing of the major planetary aspects for May 2017. Each aspect is described below, with the date the aspect is exact and a “=/-” which indicates the number of days that aspect will be most in effect. Generally, the closer to the exact date, the more pronounced the effect of the transit. And of course, as with everything else in life: your mileage may vary.
But first, a word about the aspects. Conjunctions, squares and oppositions can all be difficult. They generate the sort of energy that can get all up in your face and is hard to ignore, but it’s hard to get much done in life without the raw energy they supply. Trines and sextiles are helpful and constructive, but it’s easy to miss out on the opportunities they provide unless you make an effort. Finally: quincunxes are just plain weird and hard to work with, but fortunately they are a relatively minor influence.
May 3, 2017: Sun sextile Neptune
(=/-4 days) Dreaminess and a certain well-meaning lack of attention to detail can get you positive results.
May 3, 2017: Mercury retrograde is over, hooray!
May 5, 2017: Sun quincunx Jupiter
(=/-3 days) Egos get a little out of control and start making trouble in unexpected ways.
May 6, 2017: Mars square Uranus
(=/- 6 days) Tempers flare, impatience abounds, and sex drives get turned up to uncomfortable levels.
May 9, 2017 Sun trine Pluto
(=/- 4 days) An excellent time for showing kindness and caring to the less fortunate… even if that means yourself.
May 10, 2017: Full Moon in Scorpio.
May 10, 2017: Mercury conjunct Uranus
(=/- 4 days) Wild new ideas and outbursts of creativity can lead to new solutions.
May 11, 2017: Mars square Neptune
(=/- 6 days) Do you know what the actual source of your annoyance with things is? Probably not as much as you think.
May 11, 2017: Mercury trine Saturn
(=/- 4 days) New ideas and intellectual pursuits can be put into a more solid and permanent form.
May 12, 2017: Mars trine Jupiter

May 19, 2017: Sun trine Uranus
(=/- 3 days) Feel good about yourself and those around you will feel good about you too!
May 19, 2017: Mars quincunx Pluto
(=/- 3 days) Tempers and sex drives are up and down all over the place… except where and when you want the to be, it seems.
May 19, 2017: Venus opposite Jupiter
(=/- 6 days) So much sweetness in the air! An excellent time to break some hearts… or your diet.
May 20, 2017: Sun enters Gemini
May 25, 2017: New Moon in Taurus
May 25, 2017: Venus square Pluto

May 28, 2017: Mercury sextile Neptune

May 29, 2017: Mars opposite Saturn
