Sunday inspiration: Simplicity, patience, compassion
Last updated on: September 18, 2011 at 8:29 am By Lynn Hayes
“Simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures. Simple in actions and thoughts, you return to the source of being. Patient with both friends and enemies, you accord with the way things are. Compassionate toward yourself, you reconcile all beings in the world.” ― Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching art from The Mandala Way Read more

Ten things you should know about astrology
Last updated on: September 14, 2011 at 4:41 pm By Lynn Hayes
While I’m out of town I’m reposting some older articles you might enjoy. 1. Your birthchart is much more than your Sun sign. You have more than ten different astrological signatures in your chart!! The astrology that most people know comes from the horoscope in the newspaper. If you’re an Aries, you’ll meet an interesting person today. Libra, it’s time to make a decision. This kind of astrology is called Sun Sign astrology, and while there are some excellent astrologers doing... Read more

Remembering September 11th, and a look at the Pisces Full Moon, September 12, 2011
Last updated on: September 11, 2011 at 1:55 pm By Lynn Hayes
Remembering September 11th art by Elaine Felos Ostrander. You will have a hard time ignoring the fact that today is the tenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks if you live in the United States. There’s not a media outlet (including this one) that is letting today go by without a mention. I think we can all agree that no matter how we spin the attack and the events that followed in our mind, this event is the single thing... Read more

Sunday inspiration: A life of deep awareness
Last updated on: September 11, 2011 at 7:19 am By Lynn Hayes
The secret of beginning a life of deep awareness and sensitivity lies in our willingness to pay attention. Our growth as conscious, awake human beings is marked not so much by grand gestures and visible renunciations as by extending loving attention to the minutest particulars of our lives. Every relationship, every thought, every gesture is blessed with meaning through the wholehearted attention we bring to it. In the complexities of our minds and lives we easily forget the power of... In the shadow of Saturn
Last updated on: September 9, 2011 at 4:38 pm By Lynn Hayes
Beth Owls Daughter and I met for lunch yesterday and commiserated on our upcoming Saturn Returns – although we are a year about, our Saturns are close to the same degree and we both are in the shadow of the Saturn Return right now. I hadn’t read her blog from Wednesday where she posted this amazing photo of Saturn from NASA’s Astrology Picture of the Day: Synchronicity in motion. There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding about the second... Read more

Jupiter was almost a star
Last updated on: September 8, 2011 at 5:22 pm By Lynn Hayes
I’m mostly posting on this because it’s such a fantastic photo from the Cassini probe (Source: Daily Galaxy). The article is pretty incredible too: Jupiter, the most massive planet in our solar system — with dozens of moons and an enormous magnetic field — resembles a star in composition, but it did not grow big enough to ignite. The planet’s swirling cloud stripes are broken by storms, the most massive being the Great Red Spot, which has raged for hundreds... Read more

UK Researcher says “seasonal interference” is not astrology
Last updated on: September 7, 2011 at 11:57 am By Lynn Hayes
Russell Foster, a researcher with Oxford University in the UK, has uncovered a correlation between birth month and career path. According to researchers, a child born in December is more likely to become a dentist while someone whose birthday falls in January is more likely to become a debt collector. Those babies born in February are likely to turn their hand to painting, while March babies go on to become pilots. Speaking earlier this year, neuroscientist Russell Foster from Oxford University... Updated!! The astrology of Chaz Bono and the Aquarian Age
Last updated on: September 5, 2011 at 8:13 am By Lynn Hayes
At the age of 42 Chaz Bono has joined the cast of the television program “Dancing with the Stars” – an event which has caused widespread controversy and brought his recent gender reassignment surgery into the forefront of the news. Update: Astrotheme has a 12:55 am birth time for Chaz Bono which has been identified as part of the Steinbrecher collection which is highly reliable. I’ve edited the article to add some information based on this time of birth. When... Read more

Sunday inspiration: Live the question
Last updated on: September 4, 2011 at 9:10 am By Lynn Hayes
Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day. –Rainer Marie... Read more

Astrology in my world: Adventures in Astrology
Last updated on: September 2, 2011 at 2:48 pm By Lynn Hayes
Maybe it’s because I am heading into the vortex of my second Saturn return (three degrees away it already is a doozy!), or maybe it’s because my progressed Mercury is getting ready to turn direct after being retrograde for many years. In any case, I have been expanding my astrological repertoire, something I haven’t done since… well, really – ever. When I started working with charts in the early 1980s Chiron was already on the scene and he hopped right... Read more
