4. We need to pay closer attention to our tone, body language, words, and actions towards our spouse and adjust accordingly.
Sometimes, we can make our spouse feel all alone just by the negative tone of our voice and careless body language, and we may not even realize that we are doing it. So, we must pay closer attention to how we respond to one another. Do we smile when our spouse walks in the room and greet him/her? Do we speak kindly to our spouse both in person and to others? Do we take time each day to do something kind and thoughtful for our spouse? If we can answer “yes” to all of these, then we are on the right track. If not, we need improvement. And, we can take those steps towards improvement TODAY. Don’t wait! Show your spouse how much you care. Lean in and engage with him/her. Don’t settle for a lonely marriage. Over time, you will see what a difference these four steps will make, and you both will cultivate a thriving marriage.
