4. “Sex feels like a chore.”
I’ve heard many wives (and some husbands) say this over the years–and I may have said it a time or two myself to be honest. But, Friends, we’ve got to change our perspective on this. Sex is not a chore–it is beautiful, God-given way for a husband and wife to connect, and it should be extremely enjoyable too. We can’t allow exhaustion, kids, jobs, responsibilities, and anything else to rob us, our spouse, and our marriage of sex. We must stop seeing it as just another “thing” on our to-do list. At the same time, we must do our very best to make it a priority. As a spouse, one of our responsibilities is to fulfill each other’s sexual needs. But, approaching sex as a chore can be a major turn off to our partner. So, instead of viewing sex as some daunting task on our list, let’s get excited about it. Wear some lacy underwear, light a candle or two, send flirtatious texts throughout the day to one another, and get yourself in the mood for some intimate time with one another. Have fun with it, and make it your mission to truly make your spouse’s day. Then, sex becomes something exciting to look forward to and something the two of you will enjoy together.
