2. Cultivate a shared dream and keep dreaming up new dreams together.

When you first met your spouse, the two of you would dream about your future together all the time, right? Then, you got married, and the busyness of life happened. Bills had to be paid. Children needed to be raised. Careers had to be built. And, dreams had to be placed on hold–again, and again, and again. But, deep inside your hearts, you remember the dreams that you shared with one another, don’t you?

Maybe your job and your kiddos ARE the dream, and yet you still feel like you and your spouse are out of sync or disconnected.

I get it.

Have you ever thought that it might be because the two of you stopped dreaming up NEW dreams together?

Maybe your dreams have changed a bit as you’ve grown and changed over time. That’s okay. The important thing is that we never feel stuck. We keep on dreaming new dreams together based on our collective strengths, gifts, and talents. Then, make a plan on how you both are going to make that dream a reality. Pray about it. Talk about it. Your shared dream will come into focus the more you keep it alive by taking steps toward it.
