4. Keeping secrets from your husband and not consulting him on daily decisions.

Secrets start small. We tell ourselves things like:

“He doesn’t really need to know about this one little conversation with a male co-worker.”

Or,

“It’s not a big deal that I have a secret account for my shopping sprees.”

Or,

“Why can’t I have password on my phone? He doesn’t need to know every time I get a text.”

Or,

“This is my life. I’m a grown woman. I don’t have to tell him everything.”

If we are honest, I think most of us can admit to at least one of these statements crossing our mind a time or two. But, these seemingly little or harmless secrets come back to bite us. What was once a little thing can blow up in our face and turn into a full fledge affair. And, the longer we keep secrets, the easier it becomes for us to keep bigger secrets. And, before we know it, we become nothing more than two married roommates.

It doesn’t have to be this way. You can turn things around by being open, honest, and vulnerable with your husband. And, you can start today.
