Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
While Approaching Justice has gotten a few donations, the fund drive has gotten more questions.
Let me answer a few:
Does Patheos ask you to get paying subscribers?
No. This is all my doing.
I am not looking for subscribers in the traditional way. There is no pay wall at Approaching Justice and that is not going to change.
The funds for this drive will go directly to supporting me and Approaching Justice. The “subscription” option allows for you to make a recurring monthly $2 payment. You can also make a one-time donation in an amount of you choosing.
Writing for has Patheos been great. While Approaching Justice has started out strong, I have not made any money from Patheos. We are building our audience and I soon expect to have sufficient page views to get paid directly by Patheos.
What is the money for?
By supporting Approaching Justice, you will be supporting commentary, reflection, and discussion of faith, religion, politics and social justice.
The money raised supports my writing here and elsewhere. More specifically the money will support me and my family. Right now, I am writing full-time and trying and hoping to make a living doing so. I would like to continue to do that. I will be teaching part-time in the future and Lyndee starts teaching first grade here in Las Vegas later this month.
Can you pull this off?
I am a dreamer. I have faith and hope. I am not looking to make Approaching Justice a blog that charges people to read it. But I need Approaching Justice to be a reader-supported-blog.
Whether you enjoy the blog or you are just a supporter of me and my family (I know many of you are both), I appreciate your willingness to chip in.
By supporting Approaching Justice, you will be supporting commentary, reflection, and discussion of faith, religion, politics and social justice.
My goal for August is to get 1000 subscriptions or donations.
Ultimately, whether I can make this model work depends on you. Will you please either subscribe or donate to Approaching Justice today?
Thanks!
