Last updated on: August 9, 2017 at 3:11 pm   By Guest Contributor

The anti-Semitism and anti-Muslim bigotry of our current political leadership represent a methodical and ideological shift away from pluralism as a shared ideal. Trump is, quite overtly, asserting himself as the leader of a far-right white nationalist movement, as is evidenced by the violence and censure aimed at people of color who showed up at Trump rallies. Read more

Is Islam Inherently Secular?

Last updated on: July 19, 2017 at 5:28 pm   By Guest Contributor

When American Muslims say that America is the closest nation to reconcile itself to Islamic ideals anywhere in the world, they are not speaking of shariah law, they are simply reinforcing their renunciation of the dualistic view of existence. The sacred and secular are one. Read more

President Donald J. Trump's modified version of the travel ban, aka the Muslim ban, is set to go into affect tonight. When I was growing up in Pakistan, it was the tradition that the grieving family would not observe Eid. The family would go into a state of quiet mourning, remembering and missing their dearly departed. For them there would be no new clothes, no gifts, no visits to families, no feasting and no greetings of Eid Mubarak. Read more
