Jon Kent, Son of Superman, Comes Out As Bisexual

Last updated on: October 11, 2021 at 1:26 pm By Matthew Distefano

I’m sure you’ve heard the news: Jon Kent, son of Clark Kent – you know him as Superman – is bisexual. Cool. I suppose. I don’t know, but I’m just not really into comic books, nor do I particularly care about the sexuality of fictional characters in general. I’m not a part of the LGBTQ crowd who personally needs a fictional character to identify with. I mean, if you are, then great. It’s just not something I, as an openly... Read more

Religious Exemptions and the COVID-19 Vaccines

Last updated on: October 4, 2021 at 11:30 am By Matthew Distefano

As vaccine mandates start becoming more commonplace, religious folks are turning to exemptions in order to not get the jab. One common argument they are attempting to put forth is this: Because aborted fetal cells were used in testing during the research of the mRNA vaccines, as well as the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, we Christians have a right to legally opt out. Okay, fine. If you have a serious issue with abortion and want absolutely no association with these... Read more

Last updated on: September 27, 2021 at 12:59 pm By Matthew Distefano

Are you LGBTQ Affirming? Great! This article is probably not for you specifically. Let it instead be a resource you can share with friends and family. Alisa Childers Just Doesn’t Get It

Last updated on: September 24, 2021 at 1:53 pm By Matthew Distefano

If you don’t know who Alisa Childers is, then let me enlighten you. Alisa is a fairly popular YouTuber who has built a decently extensive platform as a conservative Christian apologist. To date, she has over 121K subscribers. And I can see why. The audio/video production is quality. The graphics pop. Alisa is articulate and pretty damn smart. And so are many of her guests. So, what’s the problem then? Well, without knowing her personally, I can only speculate; but... Read more

God Won’t Protect You

Last updated on: September 21, 2021 at 7:55 am By Matthew Distefano

Throughout this entire pandemic, we’ve heard a lot of people saying a lot of things. Some of them have been great. Some of them have been dangerous. Some, idiotic. And some are a combination of the last two. One thing I’ve heard from Christians is the following: “God will protect me.” But will he? Will he really? Of course, I know of no such study that points to a correlation between believing in God and being spared from COVID-19. In... Read more

“Can I Get My Hair Cut Under a Rainbow Flag?”: A Response

Last updated on: September 17, 2021 at 2:50 pm By Matthew Distefano

In an August 31 article for the ever-increasingly irrelevant online group blog, The Gospel Coalition, columnist Laura Baxter answers a reader’s question, “Can I get my hair cut under a rainbow flag?” The reader’s full question to the author is as follows: “The place where I get my haircut has a sign out side that says ‘We don’t serve people who are unmasked, racist, or homophobic.’ They also fly a rainbow flag all year long. I believe in a biblical... Read more

Which Chapter of the Book of Revelation Are We In This Week?

Last updated on: September 15, 2021 at 11:54 am By Matthew Distefano

Let me begin by saying this: I don’t think the book of Revelation is about the future. I grew up believing this, but not any longer. I used to look for the antichrist. I used to wonder what the mark of the beast would be. I wondered if I would be raptured before Armageddon or after it. These were childish beliefs and I no longer believe in childish things. That being said, the book of Revelation can be about a... Read more

Applying Trump’s Logic to My Life

Last updated on: September 14, 2021 at 11:31 am By Matthew Distefano

Today is the California recall election, where we are voting either to keep Gavin Newsome or vote him out. Since the candidate leading the polls if Newsome is recalled is Larry Elder, God help us if Newsome loses. Either way, former POTUS Donald Trump is already calling the election rigged. Since there is no evidence of this, and since facts and truth no longer matter, I’m going to just start saying whatever the hell I want. It’s gonna make my... Read more

A Response to Sean McDowell and Dr. George Yancey

Last updated on: September 13, 2021 at 12:00 pm By Matthew Distefano

A few weeks ago, my friend Keith Giles asked me if I would watch a YouTube video by Sean McDowell and Baylor sociologist George Yancey, so that we could respond to it. Our reaction video can be found here. The topic of McDowell’s interview was about whether conservative Christianity and progressive Christianity are different religions. The conclusion was essentially “yes,” and thus conservatives are the de facto correct faith. During this discussion, one thing, among others, that stood out to... Read more
