Last updated on: November 16, 2014 at 3:51 pm By Alicia T. Crosby

What does it mean to be holy I’ve been told it means to be set apart Consecrated for divine purpose You are special Different But I wrestle with this For the first time in my life I wish to be ordinary Not set apart Not exceptional Just common For in commonality lie things we can share I want people to drink from my cup And for me to sip from theirs Because it is through this sweet communion that I... Water

Last updated on: November 6, 2014 at 1:17 pm By Alicia T. Crosby

I am a glass Neither half empty or half full Maybe neither maybe both Hell, I’m unsure of my contents I’m discontent Because I was told I’d be filled to overflowing And in this season I struggle not knowing exactly where my water line is All I know is that I taste different My composition is changing And I feel like God is rearranging my makeup My water is enhanced But I am not yet full Read more

A Prayer for Journey and Purpose

Last updated on: October 23, 2014 at 11:11 pm By Alicia T. Crosby

God, In this moment I need to ask what are you requiring of me. I’m discerning so much and am getting overwhelmed at because I can’t stop feeling. I feel that I am meant to be in this place, at this time. I feel that you are allowing me to bear witness to all that I am. I feel that my presence is necessary but that all comes with a sense of burden. I’m not asking that you take these... Read more

Affording Myself Intimacy

Last updated on: October 20, 2014 at 6:35 am By Alicia T. Crosby

I got a 4 am wake up call. I had a dream and woke up upset which quickly turned to anger. I don’t like being angry especially not in the middle of the night, three hours before I’m scheduled to be up. “Why the hell am I so angry?” As I worked through that question, I played on my phone until I saw something that triggered me. And then I gave God an earful. See 4’oclock is a lonely hour... Read more

It Struck A Chord: While You Were Talking About Gungor, Frisco, And Walsh

Last updated on: August 16, 2014 at 9:06 am By Alicia T. Crosby

For those who would dare insist racism is hyped up or even dead, open up your eyes and pay attention to people who DON'T look like you. Step out of your bubble, tune into the (non Fox) news and see the pain so many of us are bearing. You are desperately needed in this fight to combat this evil, oppressive monster we call racial injustice. Instead of debating about heaven and hell, do the hard work of dismantling the hell people live through every day. Read more
