Happy 5th Anniversary

Last updated on: May 6, 2014 at 5:56 pm   By Aine Llewellyn

Blogging here has encouraged me to become more professional and polished. It's made me think about what I'm writing about and how to write about it, how to convey what the gods want me to say. Read more

Basics: the Clarene (Mundane)

Last updated on: April 29, 2014 at 10:17 am   By Aine Llewellyn

We're focusing on mundane practices that are associated with the Clarene. We can, of course, make these devotional acts if we dedicate them to her, and she may well instruct us to learn some of her crafts so we may serve her better. Violence certainly holds redemption, but that violence can just as easily become nothing more than revenge. Read more

Basics: the Clarene (Worship)

Last updated on: April 16, 2014 at 4:32 pm   By Aine Llewellyn

Today's prompt focuses on how the god's worship has changed in modern times – but the Clarene is a modern god, so it's begun in modern times! So, instead, I will focus on what her worship looks like now and what it might look like in the future. Read more

For the next few weeks, we’ll be delving into the 30 Days of Devotion, a devotional writing project that helps us explore the gods we worship. We will do each of these for each of the Four Gods. If you are an Other Person or exploring the Four Gods, feel free to add your own comments – or join in! If you have another topic you would like to see written on, you can email me ([email protected]) or message me... Read more

Basics: the Clarene (Places)

Last updated on: April 8, 2014 at 7:13 pm   By Aine Llewellyn

I've mentioned before that the Clarene is a god of tending the earth, not the land itself, and so she's not 'in everything around us'. Her daughter/son/child the Laetha is the West itself, and so we can say that the Laetha is in everything under our feet, but the matter is still more complex than that. There are, however, places where the Clarene does surround us. Read more

Last updated on: April 5, 2014 at 3:58 pm   By Aine Llewellyn

We actually don't know many of the Clarene's holy days at this time, due to the new nature of the Otherfaith. We know more of the Laetha and Dierne's holidays, and this year is being spent in contemplation of the Clarene and Ophelia's days. Read more

Last updated on: April 1, 2014 at 3:54 pm   By Aine Llewellyn

During offerings, we praise the Clarene first. We give her an offering of some sort of herb that lays on our shrine (we do not use the term 'altar' in the Otherfaith) for an entire week. Read more
