5 Songs for Faeryland
Last updated on: February 7, 2013 at 7:50 pm By Aine Llewellyn
A small list of songs that remind this blogger of the faeries and the various places Over There. Speaking sometimes of longing, but more often of the danger of the places where no humans live. Read more

But We Have a Queer!
Last updated on: February 5, 2013 at 12:39 pm By Aine Llewellyn
Let's face it: Pagan and polytheist movements aren't perfect, and we need to stop pretending they are. We need to stop pretending that it's only 'extremists' who do crappy things. Read more

Prayer: Is & Isn’t
Last updated on: February 1, 2013 at 4:47 pm By Aine Llewellyn
Prayer can look very different from religion to religion and person to person. We have habits we develop associated with our practice as well as smaller personal details (touching a body part, incense blends, lighting, activities we can pray and perform). This final post on prayer is not to say what you personally cannot do but to clear up confusion and misconceptions that often get thrown about or promoted in our communities. Read more

Woo Woo
Last updated on: January 31, 2013 at 2:30 pm By Aine Llewellyn
It seems a lot in discussions of where ‘woo’ belongs in the community and in our practices that a dichotomy is presented: either a) we believe in spirits and gods literally and entirely or b) we don’t believe in them at all. Binaries can be frustrating and erasing and leave most people stranded somewhere in the middle, though, so I’m going to attempt to post a more varied approach to woo, spirits, and such. Read more

Faith(s) + Respect
Last updated on: January 28, 2013 at 3:31 pm By Aine Llewellyn
Ultimately, I find that I place my gods first and foremost in this issue. Where they lead, I go. When I feel that my duties or obligations to my gods are being stepped on or tossed away because they’re difficult to deal with or make people uncomfortable, I make scarce. Read more

Prayer: Why & When
Last updated on: January 24, 2013 at 5:38 pm By Aine Llewellyn
Prayer can benefit the gods by keeping them in touch with us, establishing communication and connection, creating a conversation. I believe the gods can care about us (but not all gods do so by default), and that by inviting them into our lives by praying to them we are benefiting them. Read more

Five Stories
Last updated on: January 22, 2013 at 6:07 pm By Aine Llewellyn
As part of my work with the Four Gods, I write new stories (myths) for Them and the various spirits associated and connected to Them. Sometimes these stories come to me in dreams; other times, I simply have the seed of an idea and spiral it forth. Read more

Prayer: How & Whom
Last updated on: January 21, 2013 at 5:53 pm By Aine Llewellyn
Praying aloud is an important part of polytheistic practice, or at least one that places the gods outside of ourselves. Since our gods are not omniscient or omnipotent we can’t expect them to read our minds when we wish to talk to them. We, ourselves, need to reach out with our voices. Read more

Prayer [Series]
Last updated on: January 18, 2013 at 12:17 pm By Aine Llewellyn
Prayer is a complicated topic in modern Pagandom. Quite a few people I’ve known detest the idea of praying (or worshiping), and many more believe that formalized prayer rather than spontaneous outbursts is bad or not as ‘spiritual’. The idea of spontaneous prayer was lovely but impractical for me – whenever I felt the presence of my gods my mind often went blank. Read more

Last updated on: January 16, 2013 at 4:55 pm By Aine Llewellyn
Ever since reading about the Antinoan Feast of the Senses I’ve been enamored with the idea of creating lists of songs, stories, food, smells, and places that remind me of my Gods. What follows bellow are ten songs that remind me of the Four Gods I worship. Read more
