The Frost Moon

Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
The last full moon of the year is a Super Frost Moon. It officially graces us at 10:47 am Eastern time, but many have seen and felt its Gemini effects over the past couple days.
A Super Moon is when the moon is closer to the earth, making it brighter and larger. Some even saw the aura in the sky by or around the moon, a reflection of ice.
What the Super Moon does for us in an astrological sense is exposes our soul to our wants, needs, fears, and dreams. Often this is scary, but its like the aha moment after the tantrum and tears. This is bound to come with drama (both in the media and in our personal lives), and you might feel like you are walking on eggshells. Now that Mercury is in Retrograde (start Dec. 3 and end Dec. 22), this is even more intensified.
So if you are feeling sad, ornery, or like your mind won’t shut off, you very well are feeling the dualistic energy already. For the next couple days. Gemini, the twins, doesn’t disappoint as it’s always an adventure with this energy {note oozing sarcasm}. One minute you (or another) will be just fine and just like that anger or sadness erupts. The bi-polar personality of this moon makes it hard to figure people out (even those closest to you), and sometimes even yourself during this time. You will more than likely encounter a lot of grumpy people and a lot erratic drivers. The positive with this moon (there is always a positive and negative), is that this is a great time to embrace your spirituality, take a fun class, express your love, and treat life with as much simplicity as you can. This energy is creative energy and Gemini moons are not complex, they are just crave simple harmony. Turn your music on loud, start a creative project (or finish one) and be careful of over complicating things. If you do you will see the Jekyll & Hyde personality come out in you and those around you. The Full Moon will bring a lot of self discovery these next few days full circle, so be careful what you wish for.
This Super moon is filled with energy as is a great time to write down the things that you want to stop beating yourself up over and rip it up or burn it. It’s to move on and clear the way for new beginnings, and Mercury Retrograde helps to look at the past so that you can dig deep and then start your healing. {This is also a great time to take all of your New Moon checks and burn them.}
