Beyond Binary Witchcraft: In Praise of Pagan Social Justice Warriors

Last updated on: February 27, 2020 at 4:10 pm   By Elliot Director

At ConVocation, I saw virulent resistance to Social Justice Warriors, and in that, a resistance to what SJW’s represent - social change, inclusion, feminism, bodily autonomy and acceptance, and yes - anti-racism. The solution is not to shore up and hope SJW’s go away. Instead, it’s time to throw the doors open wide. Read more

Cross and Crossroads: The Door to The Ancestors

Last updated on: February 25, 2020 at 3:20 pm   By J. Allen Cross

Ancestor Veneration is an exciting new topic for a lot of witches these days. As we learn more about the topic and its prevalence in cultures throughout the world, more and more people are coming to me and asking how to get started or what to do with their problematic ancestors. Here are some Dos and Don'ts. Read more

Living the Liminal: Successful Spellcrafting

Last updated on: February 24, 2020 at 4:35 pm   By Lisa Jade

The most common thing I see occur is friends and acquaintances struggling with effective and accurate results to their spells. Having a truly clear intention means you can see the result you desire, work backwards from that future result to the present, creating the path that will get you there. Read more

The Balancing Path: My Nonbinary Liminal Pantheacon Experience

Last updated on: January 4, 2022 at 8:50 am   By Sidney Eileen

Nonbinary pathways are often inherently liminal because they defy the standard paths and perspectives of our societies. I give my sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone who was a part of the Nonbinary Ritual, and a part of my day at Pantheacon.  It was an amazing experience, and I will treasure it always. Read more

The Corner Crone: Personal Agency, Healthy Boundaries & Saying “No”

Last updated on: February 18, 2020 at 7:39 pm   By Martha Kirby Capo

Does a Deity call you into service, or do you approach a Deity and ask to embark on a relationship wherein you work with Them, or is the interaction some sort of combination of both? And where does personal agency fit into the landscape? Do we get to say "no"? Read more

Irish-American Witchcraft: Fae in the City

Last updated on: February 18, 2020 at 4:09 pm   By Morgan Daimler

There is a tendency to view fairies as limited to the realm of gardens and wilderness but I urge people to rethink this. We have abundant evidence both in the older material and in modern accounts of fairies in human cities and of cities existing in the world of Fairy. Read more

Simple Witchery: A Time For Anger

Last updated on: February 13, 2020 at 7:13 pm   By Willow Rose

Some of my most powerful magic has been forged in the holy fire of anger—and not just baneful magic. We can harness the energy of our sacred rage and control the way we use it. We need our warriors. Our burning times are nigh, and we can't stand by in silence. Read more

The Corner Crone: Lessons From the Roots of Trees

Last updated on: February 12, 2020 at 5:54 pm   By Martha Kirby Capo

The oaks, the banyans, the gumbo limbo trees, the royal poincianas–almost every tree I’m learning about seems to share to some degree this commonality: above-ground roots. So recently uprooted myself, I find I am drawn to studying the “feet” of the trees. What can they teach me? Read more

Dance of the Maenad: What Are Inner Spaces & Why Should I Have One?

Last updated on: February 12, 2020 at 2:49 pm   By Hannah

“Inner Space” is a generic term I use to describe a place within your mind where you go during meditation to commune with spirit guides and other entities, to practice visualization, and as a jumping-off point for journey work and astral shenanigans. In this space, YOU are in charge. Read more
