Did Alec Baldwin Just Hint at a 2020 Presidential Run? ‘If I Ran, I Would Win’

Did Alec Baldwin Just Hint at a 2020 Presidential Run? ‘If I Ran, I Would Win’ 2018-06-12T15:41:55-05:00 Martha English

Well, what else could possibly happen in politics to make it even weirder?  Dennis Rodman running for President?  Of North Korea?

Not yet, but Alec Baldwin, who famously satirizes President Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live, has begun talking about himself and a 2020 in the same breath.  Yesterday, while chatting with shock jock Howard Stern said he could beat Trump if he ran against him in 2020.  “One-thousand percent,” he assured listeners.   “If I ran, I would win.  I would absolutely win.”

Additionally, he said, that his campaign would be “the funniest, most exciting, most crazy campaign.”  Wow.  That’s a very high bar after 2016, isn’t it?

“The only reason I say that is because I’d love to run for that kind of position to have things just be very common sense,” Baldwin added. “There’s so many things this country needs to do that are so obvious.”

Did you note the language?  He’d love to run?

As soon as CNN published this news, people on Twitter reminded the star of the threatening voicemail he left his eleven year old daughter, whom he had with Kim Basinger.  TMZ reported on the embarrassing message:

“Once again, I have made an ass of myself trying to get to a phone,” adding, “you have insulted me for the last time.”

Switching his train of thought, Baldwin then exercised his incredible parenting skills and took a shot at his ex-wife, declaring, “I don’t give a damn that you’re 12-years-old or 11-years-old, or a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn’t care about what you do.” The irate Baldwin went on to say, “You’ve made me feel like s**t” and threatened to “straighten your ass out.”

“This crap you pull on me with this goddamn phone situation that you would never dream of doing to your mother,” screamed Baldwin, “and you do it to me constantly over and over again.”

Before hanging up, Baldwin warned the child, “You better be ready Friday the 20th to meet with me.” That’s tomorrow.

Well, this is going to get interesting. I guess the obvious question is this: If Baldwin ran, who would play him on Saturday Night Live?  Donald Trump?
