7 Things I Learned at the New Life Expo
Last updated on: September 30, 2012 at 3:42 pm By kathleenokeefe
San Francisco hosted the 2011 New Life Expo—current name of the Whole Life Expo popularized in the 1970s. Its function is to bring together like-minded people fascinated with the metaphysical world. Venders displayed health products while authors sold books. Long tables arranged in a horseshoe acted as the bookstore. I took this pattern to be a lucky sign—books were still cherished. Consuming literature at lunchtime in the organic food court was a favorite pastime for attendees. Participating as a guest... Read more

Elizabeth Edwards: Please Take a Bow
Last updated on: September 14, 2012 at 2:19 pm By kathleenokeefe
Elizabeth Edwards was laid to rest Tuesday, December 7, 2010 after a brave battle with breast cancer. However, some people are more focused on her scandalous marriage and messy divorce than her accomplishments as a mother and woman in the public eye. Bloggers speculate on whether Elizabeth will be remembered as a fighter or a victim. Personally, I will remember her as one of my heroes. Even in the face of extreme adversity, Elizabeth Edwards always presented herself as... Read more

Heaven or Hell: How Would You Know?
Last updated on: September 14, 2012 at 2:08 pm By kathleenokeefe
My sister-n-law sent me this e-mail and it was so true and beautiful. I’m sharing it with you. In these busy times, staying in touch can be difficult but not impossible, and emails can make it easier. So the next time someone forwards you an email, see it as a sign of friendship and pass on the love. Just delete all the names that were ever attached to keep everyone’s mailbox clean. HEAVEN OR HELL–AND HOW WOULD YOU KNOW? A man... Read more

6 Things I Learned At The Frankfurt Book Fair
Last updated on: September 14, 2012 at 1:50 pm By kathleenokeefe
When I landed in Frankfurt, Germany, my birthplace as an Army-brat, the same dreary weather greeted me that I had left in Boston, MA. However, when I walked though the doors to the Frankfurt Book Fair, aka FBF, the overall feeling was “contagious excitement.” 7,539 exhibitors from 111 countries with 3,000 events and 100 publishing companies were busy assembling their booths. I compared it to the 2010 New York Book Exp America, (aka BEA) I had attended in June. According to... Read more

Last updated on: September 30, 2012 at 3:38 pm By kathleenokeefe
(Writtten for Ladies Going Green Online Magazine) We can survive for weeks without food but not for long without water. Our bodies are made up of 60-70 percent water. But, is it healthy to drink? Bottled water is expensive. Are water companies protecting us or taking our wallets for a ride, or are our municipal water works taking our health for granted? A four-year scientific study recently made public by the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC) had disturbing findings.... Read more

Part 2 of the BLOG from the Radio Show: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thebodymindandspiritnetwork/2012/09/05/beyond-the-5-senses Tarot cards were originally used to play a card game that was very similar to bridge.
